Adara Fest Beautiful! Video on the way.... & more to come from Amy!
Last evening was Amy Steffen's first ever "Adara fest" at the Southgate House in Newport. She did a wonderful job for her first promotion of a bellydance event.

It was the most beautiful line-up of dancers!! Neena and Veena headlined the event. They were just as beautiful and gracious as one might expect them to be. Their various sets were dedicated to Indian ethnic music and cabaret style bellydance.

Local acts included Snakes Rising (of course) Raqs Gypsy, Deniz, Laylia, Zahara, Arabian Spice, Anaya Gypsy. ... Am I forgetting anyone? Everyone was really on the top of their game! I have never seen Deniz dance more beautifully!! And Laylia's dance to Kraddy's "Snake Chamah" was da bomb. I had no idea that Wendy, of the folkloric "Raqs Gypsy" could also dance so beautifully as a Cabaret style dancer in "Arabian Spice." She was incredible!

I think my favorite part of the evening was Deniz' dance to Dawn's flute. That was absolutely inspired! It was hard for even Neena and Veena to top that one! (Keep in mind that I am partial to dancers who choose live music.<wink>)

Here is what I learned from Amy Steffen: If you want to see the best of them... treat your performers well! Even if it costs you!!

There were no photography or videography permitted last evening, except the pros. So I can't show you any!! Do stay tuned for the release of the video from this event. It will be worth your investment... to see what the best of SW Ohio (and Neena & Veena) look like at their best!
